An active shooter incident has prompted a lockdown at a U.S. Army base in Georgia.
In an alert posted on Facebook Wednesday, Fort Stewart Hunter Army Airfield said the lockdown was “due to an active shooter incident in the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team area.”
Law enforcement is on the scene, the post said, adding that “casualties have been reported.”
In a separate post on X, the 3rd Infantry Division said the lockdown included the Wright and Evans Army Airfield.

“Stay inside, close and lock all windows and doors,” the post said. “Report accountability to your leadership. Monitor media outlets for more.”
