You've got two days to take advantage of an anniversary deal. You have plenty of time to plan for the Cranston Greek Festival. And you can contemplate why the Red Sox's Alex Bregman has his own beer.

That's the news I'm sharing today.

Hard to believe where the years go, but Red Stripe, 465 Angell St., Providence, will celebrate its 20th anniversary through Thursday, Aug. 28. Guests can get 20% off all of the brasserie’s appetizers, entrées, desserts, cocktails and wines by the glass, plus $1 ice cream sundaes with the purchase of any entrée.

Sample a wide variety of specialties, including roast lamb, Greek-style chicken, souvlaki (skewered pork or chicken), pastitsio (Greek lasagna), spanakopita (spinach pie), tiropita (cheese pie) and gyros. The pastry booth offers hand-made Greek pastries prepared by teams of parishioners, including baklava, galaktoboureko and rice pudding. The pastry selection also includes karidopita (Greek walnut cake), kourabiedes (wedding cookies), koulourakia (butter cookies) and melomakarona (honey cookies). There will also be loukoumádes, a staple in the south of Greece and a popular street food served with a combination of honey, cinnamon and walnuts. Authentic Greek coffee and Greek frappe (iced coffee) will also be sold.

“Bregman’s Beer” is now available in limited-edition cans and on draft exclusively at the Samuel Adams Downtown Boston Taproom, 60 State St., Boston, and at the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery in Jamaica Plain.

Why?

It's meant to celebrate Alex Bregman’s first Red Sox season. “Bregman’s Beer” is described as a citrusy pale ale (5.8% ABV) crafted to celebrate Boston’s third baseman with zesty citrus hops, subtle pine undertones and a clean, refreshing finish.

"Nothing in Boston is handed to you – you’ve got to earn it,” Bregman said in a statement. “That’s what I love about this city."
