Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) on Sunday fired back at President Donald Trump, who attacked his record on crime, threatened to send troops to Baltimore, and questioned his military service.
“Did Wes Moore, the Governor of Maryland, lie about getting a Bronze Star?” Trump wrote on his Truth Social website.

In one follow-up, Moore called Trump “President Bone Spurs,” a reference to a disputed diagnosis the president used to duck military service during the Vietnam War, and raised a question of his own:
Moore also shared a fact check from Grok, the built-in AI tool on X, about his own record:
“Trump is doing everything in his power to distract from the Epstein files,” Moore added. “Really makes you wonder...”
Moore listed the medal on an application for a White House fellowship in 2006 after his commanding officers said it had the necessary approvals and that he could list it.
But the paperwork never went through, leading to questions over his inclusion of the award on his application. Moore also didn’t correct TV hosts who mentioned the award when introducing him.

Moore later called it an “honest mistake,” according to The Washington Post, which noted that he finally received the award in 2024 when the paperwork was resubmitted.
Moore’s latest tiff with Trump began when he invited the president to walk through Baltimore with him in response to the president’s use of troops in Washington and threat to send soldiers to other U.S. cities.
Trump said the invitation had “a rather nasty and provocative tone” and called Moore a “failing” governor.
“Stop talking and get to work, Wes,” he wrote on Truth Social. “Also, I gave Wes Moore a lot of money to fix his demolished bridge. I will now have to rethink that decision???”

Trump did not “give” Moore “a lot of money” for the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which collapsed last year after being hit by a cargo ship that lost power. That money was authorized by a federal spending bill that passed Congress last year.
Moore also made one last pitch for Trump to visit Baltimore to see the city for himself ― no walking necessary:
