14 arrested in $10M Home Depot theft ring
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - Officials said 14 people were arrested in a major retail theft bust in Southern California.

It is the largest organized retail theft case in Home Depot’s history, according to the Ventura County District Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors said the suspects are linked to 600 thefts at 70 different Home Depot stores across Southern California, with losses exceeding $10 million.

Prosecutors in Ventura County say the alleged ringleader at the center of the Home Depot operation is David Ahl, who allegedly ran a storefront called Aria Wholesale in Tarzana.
Ahl is accused of directing theft crews to steal high-end electrical merchandise, such as dimmer switches, circuit breakers, and outlets, then sold them through his business.
Ahl faces 45 felony counts, including conspiracy, organized retail theft, grand theft, receiving stolen property, and money laundering.
Also charged are Ahl’s brother-in-law, Omid Abrishamkar who faces 11 felony counts including conspiracy, receiving stolen property, and money laundering. According to the DA's office, he's accused of reselling stolen merchandise online through eBay. Ahl’s ex-wife, Lorena Solis and her partner, Enrique Neira Moreno are each charged with eight felony counts of conspiracy for their alleged roles in reselling stolen merchandise throughout the Los Angeles area.
Organized theft crew
According to officials, there were two organized theft crews. The primary crew, made up of Jose Banuelos Guerrero, Edwin Rivera, and Eber Bonilla-Lopez are accused of committing daily thefts, sometimes several times a day, stealing between $6,000 and $10,000 worth of merchandise at a time. They face multiple felony counts including conspiracy, organized retail theft, receiving stolen property, and grand theft.
The second theft crew, made up of Erlin Lopez-Hernandez and Denny Gomez are accused of stealing several times per week from Home Depot stores throughout the region. They are charged with three felony counts of conspiracy to commit organized retail theft.
Investigators say these crews are responsible for over 600 thefts since January 2025. Home Depot estimates that at least $10 million worth of property was stolen.
A task force seized at least $3.7 million in stolen Home Depot property since the arrests took place on August 14, 2025. The District Attorney’s Office also seized over $800,000 in suspected illicit money from financial accounts belonging to Ahl and Abrishamka.
