Sweet Newfoundland Yanks off Everyone's Socks To Keep Them From Leaving
There are a lot of good tricks dogs teach themselves as a means of keeping their humans home for just a little longer. Classic puppy dog eyes with a hint of a whine is an oldie but goody (and effective!), and so is them bringing you a ball to play fetch when they haven't done that in ages, if ever.
Chewy the Newfoundland pup has a different strategy—literally pulling off everyone's socks—and no doubt it would work on me 13/10 times!
Bless @chewythenewfie's little heart for doing the only thing he can think of to make his people stay put. He's a gentle giant and big softie "toddler" who loves his family more than anything in the world, and this is his way of saying that iconic Where the Wild Things Are line, "Please don't go, I'll eat you up, I love you so."
My heart breaks for the Newfoundland because his fear of everyone leaving is because of what happened recently. His family left for vacation and had the audacity not to take the sweet boy! Though he was left in the loving arms of his best girl, Grandma, he clearly missed them enough to force them to stay home with him.

"After a week being gone, he ain’t playing," one of the Newfie's fans commented. Mom replied, "That's for sure!"
The day his family returned home, Chewy greeted them with "150 lb body slams of love" to show how much he missed them all. It's not like dogs can tell time, so it probably felt like forever since he last saw them. But look at the joy radiating!
Newfoundlands Are the Perfect Family Dog
You don't have to know anything about the Newfoundland breed to understand Chewy's devout loyalty to his humans. These pups make the ultimate "nanny dogs," taking it upon themselves to keep watch over the children, and they look too cute doing it.
Scroll through some of Chewy's content, and you'll see his unconditional commitment to loving his people, keeping them safe, and occasionally goading them into staying at Grandma's just a little bit longer.
If Chewy needs to pull off socks to let everyone know he missed them and they can never leave again, so be it. That's what love's all about!
