Ragdoll Kitten's Sweet Friendship With Human Baby Will Instantly Make You Smile

There aren't many things cuter than kittens and babies — though puppies would definitely make the list as well. Infants and little kitties are both learning how to relate to family members and socialize with others. The sweetness and curiosity from both babies and kittens give them some common ground.

Quiche the Ragdoll kitten enjoys her human baby brother's company but is still getting used to his body language.

In the TikTok from @pearlsragdolls, Quiche and Maverick were hanging out on his playmat as their mom was nearby. The pretty kitty meowed at her mom, almost as if she was saying "yeah, we're pals".

Maverick appeared to be only a few months old and was lying on his back. He started to gently squirm and accidently batted Quiche in the face. The kitten kind of did a double take but figured it was a one-time thing and let it go.

When the baby boy did it again, the feline felt a little frustrated and let out a soft hiss. Maverick's arm then started flailing a bit, so Quiche raised a paw with an expression that said, "hey, quit it".

The infant continued to move his arms and unintentionally whack Quiche in the process. The kitten decided she'd had enough and walked away with a final hiss. Still, Quiche never retaliated and seemed to subconsciously understand that Maverick didn't mean any harm.

Are Babies and Kittens Good Together?

When families are expecting a baby, they will often prepare their pet for the new arrival by introducing certain infant sounds, smells, and gear to their dog or cat. This strategy helps to acclimate your pet ahead of time to their new family member.

Babies and kittens can get started on the right foot, or paw, by spending time together supervised by a parent. Start off slow with short blocks of time and build upon it. Never leave them unattended to ensure safety for both.

Demonstrate to your baby how to gently handle a kitten. Infants won't be doing much holding or petting until they're older, but modeling it for them early on can instill pleasant interactions.

Patience and positive reinforcement also go a long way. In time, your pet and baby can form a close bond. Maverick and Quiche are already off to a great start.
