French Bulldog’s Clever Hiding Spot From Toddler Cousin Is Too Cute

Dogs are incredibly intuitive. They can spot a kind stranger in need of a friend in a crowd and, just as easily, identify who at the table might have the most treats to share.

They also have a keen sense for knowing when it’s time to make a quick exit, like when the littlest family member is learning to walk. And this full-of-personality French Bulldog, hiding in plain sight, will have you cracking up.

Watch this cutie take cover in this hilarious video from August 14:

While Frenchies are often bold and fearless, they also know when it’s smart to keep their distance. For Frank (@celinnacosio), even though his cousin and best friend is one of his favorite pals, he’s not ready to be part of the first few wobbly steps.

Instead, this clever little dog finds a safe haven between the couch cushions. His expression says it all as his tiny cousin trots into the room.

French Bulldogs are known for their high level of emotional intelligence, allowing them to read and respond to human behavior effectively. This perhaps explains why Frank opted to hide during his toddler cousin’s approach.

As TomKings Puppies notes, while Frenchies are generally good with kids, often matching their energy and spirit, each dog is an individual. And, like all of us, sometimes they need a moment of peace.

Fans knew where Frank was coming from. Viewer @MariXPovich shared, “My mom’s Chihuahua is terrified of my one-year-old son, lol. And we’re talking about a dog who terrorizes everybody.”

Viewer @scottpullins laughed, “OMG, he’s hiding for real!” And @NotGloUnlimited added, “His face: Mom, this is not the time to video, don’t let him find me.” That sure seems to capture Frank’s exact expression!

After all this new walking excitement, Frank also needed a bit of alone time for his nap. Take a look at this adorable video from August 17:

There’s no doubt these two will be running and playing together in no time. For now, Frank’s wise choice to let his little cousin build confidence on those new legs is another example of the cleverness and charm that make French Bulldogs such entertaining companions.
