“NYPD Blue ”alum Kim Delaney arrested on suspicion of felony assault after alleged domestic dispute with partner

Delaney's partner James Morgan has been booked on a charge of misdemeanor domestic violence.

NYPD Blue actress Kim Delaney has been taken into custody for suspected felony assault, following an alleged domestic dispute.

The Emmy-winner, 63, was arrested on Saturday at 10:15 a.m., according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department booking report. Records also show that Delaney's partner, James Morgan, was arrested an hour prior.

Delaney was booked on suspicion of felony assault, while Morgan has been charged with misdemeanor felony assault, a spokesperson for the Marina Del Rey Sheriff’s Station told Entertainment Weekly. Morgan has been released on bond, while Delaney remains in custody at the time of reporting.

Police were called to Delaney's L.A. home for a domestic dispute involving her and Morgan, according to TMZ, which broke the news of Delaney's arrest on Sunday. The actress' court date has been set for Tuesday, April 1.

Representatives for Delaney did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment.

Delaney is known for starring as Detective Diane Russell across several seasons of NYPD Blue, from 1995 to 2003. The actress scored the 1997 Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and was also nominated for the award two more times, in 1998 and 1999. Her additional credits include The O.C, Army Wives, All My Children, and Chicago Fire.

The actress previously faced trouble with the law after years spent battling an alcohol addiction. In 2002, she was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after being pulled over for erratic driving and refusing to take a breathalyzer. Delaney ultimately pleaded no contest and was sentenced to two years probation. The following year, she checked into a rehab center.

In 2005, Delaney lost custody of her teenage son for driving while intoxicated. Most recently, Delaney was sued for an alleged hit-and-run that took place in November 2022.
