Macaulay Culkin opened up about his estrangement from his father, sharing that his family does not "want anything to do with him."

The former child actor and father of two appeared on the latest episode of Kate and brother Oliver Hudson's Sibling Revelry podcast to chat about that fractured relationship with Christopher "Kit" Culkin, a former stage actor the young Culkin has previously accused of being physically and mentally abusive.

Culkin hasn't spoken to his father in about 30 years, he shared. "He's a man who had seven kids and now has four grandkids, and none of them want anything to do with him," Culkin said, noting that if the roles were reversed and none of his family members spoke to him, he'd presume "I must have done something wrong.”

“I have more than an inkling that he does not feel that way," he added. "Like we're wrong and he's right. He's one of those narcissistic people."

Culkin recalled the tolls of the custody battle between his father and mother Patricia Brentrup, the latter of whom he still has a relationship with. "I wanted nothing to do with my father" during that battle when he was a kid, Culkin said. "He was just the worst. The judge was like, well, you have to do visitations with him. I told my lawyer, 'Yeah, I'm not doing that.' He said, 'Well, you'll be in contempt of court' and this and that."

The Home Alone star, who was a "smart ass" as a kid, recalled telling his lawyer: "Well, how about this? I dare the judge to put me in jail for not wanting to visit his abusive father.' I actually had to double down on that. 'I double dare him to arrest the most famous kid in the world.' I never played that card, but that was the one time I played that card.”

Culkin said he believes his six siblings, including fellow actor Kieran Culkin, also have a no contact relationship with their father. “I think my older brother had some contact with him at one point, but I think that turned sour pretty fast again.” If the elder Culkin instilled anything in his son, it was that he did not want to be the type of father he was, he said.

"Now that I got kids of my own, it makes me kick up some dust and I go, 'I can't believe he was like that. He had all these lovely kids,'" Culkin said, adding that he believes his father "had a certain amount of resentment towards me. Because he wanted to be an actor. He never really got as far as chorus on Broadway, and then he did some ballet too."

He recalled informing his father at around age 11 or 12 that he needed a break from Hollywood, but nothing came of it. "I felt trapped," Culkin said. When the elder Culkin split from Brentrup, Culkin, 14, saw an out. "I said, Great, I quit, 'cause now he's out of the picture," he said. "I hope you guys had a good time and made as much money as you possibly could because there's no more coming from me."

Culkin shares two young sons with fiancée Brenda Song: Dakota and Carson. He told the Hudson siblings he was "in a really great place" now. "I'm probably in the best place of my entire life.”
