Our favorite mastermind is finally getting her fairytale ending — and she’s got a massive rock to prove it.

When Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on Tuesday, fans immediately flocked to social media to gush about the sizable diamond on her ring finger.

The lovestruck footballer proposed to The Life of a Showgirl hitmaker with a ring he designed with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry. The stone, per Vogue, is an old mine, brilliant-cut diamond bezel-set in gold. Filigree details are also present along the sides of the band.

The carousel of images from Swift and Kelce’s floral-filled, secret garden engagement shoot, which featured a close-up of the antique cushion ring, racked up over 1 million likes in just seven minutes.

Swifties, it seems, are in total agreement: The ring is very Taylor-coded. Kelce nailed it.

“i honestly never knew what kind of ring taylor would go for but now that i see it, it’s like oh, of course that’s taylor swift’s engagement ring. it’s so quintessentially her. it’s perfect,” one fan on X wrote.

Another Swiftie declared, “this is the most taylor swift coded engagement ring i have ever seen, it’s literally perfect for her.”

As news of the engagement continues to spread across the internet, more Swifties are weighing in on the ring — and how Kelce seems to have nailed it perfectly. As described by one fan, the ring is like Swift herself: “elegant, timeless, and classy.”

Swifties are also using wedding and engagement-coded lyrics from the pop star’s decades-long discography to react to the ring.

“No paper rings here,” a Swiftie quipped on X, referencing Swift’s Lover-era hit, “Paper Rings.” In the song, Swift admits her love for “shiny things” but proclaims that she’d marry the man she loved “with paper rings.”

Referencing lyrics from Swift’s Fearless-era single, “Love Story,” another fan wrote, “pulled out a ring and said MARRY ME TAYLOR SWIFT YOU NEVER HAVE TO BE ALONE, I LOVE YOU AND THAT’S ALL I REALLY KNOW I TALKED TO YOUR DAD GO PICK OUT A WHITE DRESS ITS A LOVE STORY BABY SHE SAID YESSSSS.”

Kira Kirby, a self-proclaimed jewelry guru on TikTok, said of the ring, “I couldn’t imagine a more perfect ring for her. … I’m in love. I think this is the most perfect, beautiful, timeless design. It’s both modern, but it also has that really antique feel with the cut of the stone.”

Shay, the founder of New York-based fine jewelry company Roen Jewelry, also gushed about Swift’s antique cushion ring on TikTok, speaking of how appropriate it is given its history and inherent romance.

“I have always thought she was an antique cushion girl, because of the romance, the history, the whimsy, the elegance,” she said. “Antique cushion girls, rise up.”
