Michael Madsen has died. He was 67.

Reps for the Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill actor confirmed the news to PEOPLE on Thursday, July 3. Per NBC4 Los Angeles, Madsen's death appears to be from natural causes, with no foul play suspected, citing a local sheriff's department.

"What we understand is Michael had a cardiac arrest and was found unresponsive in his Malibu home earlier this morning," Madsen's managers Ron Smith tells PEOPLE.

Madsen's managers Smith and Susan Ferris, plus publicist Liz Rodriguez, released a statement after his death.

"In the last two years Michael Madsen has been doing some incredible work with independent film, including upcoming feature films Resurrection Road, Concessions and Cookbook for Southern Housewives, and was really looking forward to this next chapter in his life," they said in the statement, obtained by NBC4 Los Angeles. "Michael was also preparing to release a new book called Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems, currently being edited."

They added, "Michael Madsen was one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors, who will be missed by many.”
