The former hip-hop mogul rose to fame and fortune following the success of his music and label, Bad Boy Records. In 2020, he made Forbes' list for the world's highest-paid celebrities, followed by the highest-paid entertainers two years later.

In September 2024, Combs was arrested on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution, in which he pleaded not guilty. After several weeks of trial in 2025, the jury reached a split verdict on July 2, acquitting him of sex trafficking and racketeering, and convicting him on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

So, what happens to Diddy's fortune following his split verdict? Here's everything to know about his net worth in the wake of his sex trafficking trial.

In 2017, Combs was among Forbes' richest hip-hop list. Two years later, Forbes estimated Combs' personal wealth to be $740 million (despite the rapper claiming he was a billionaire). In June 2024 — three months before he was indicted — the outlet estimated his worth had declined to $400 million.

According to Forbes, in addition to Bad Boy Records and re-acquiring Sean John fashion label, a large portion of Combs' earnings were coming from his beverage empire.

Following the split verdict, legal experts told USA Today that Combs will likely get to keep his empire of mansions, business entities, exotic cars and other perks of his wealthy lifestyle.

"The government overreached. They wanted a RICO conviction so they could then go seize [Combs'] assets under RICO forfeiture laws," Los Angeles-based civil trial lawyer David Ring told the outlet. "Thats not going to happen now."

Ring added, “He was facing life in prison if convicted of the RICO charges. Instead, he likely serves a couple years in prison and returns to his business empire.”

Meanwhile, James Trusty, a former longtime chief of the DOJ’s organized crime and gang section, added that the acquittal of the most serious charges "greatly diminished" the ability for his empire to be affected.

He added that it's possible for a smaller portion of his assets to be sought by the government as they relate to the prostitution charges. To do so, the government would have to prove the assets were used in relation to the two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution in connection with “freak offs" at the center of his trial.

Although the split verdict has been reached, Combs still faces several lawsuits accusing him of physical and sexual abuse. While he already paid his ex Casandra "Cassie" Ventura $20 million to settle the suit she filed in 2023, multiple lawsuits are still pending and will require additional legal fees.

In the wake of several women accusing him of sexual assault, Combs had already begun losing many of his businesses before his arrest. In November 2023, he stepped down as chairman of Revolt, the television company he founded in 2013, and later fully divested, per AP News.

A number of brands also cut ties with his then-newly launched e-commerce endeavor, Empower Global, including Tsuri, Nuudii System, Fulaba and House of Takura.

But while his business endeavors may have declined, Bad Boy Records — which has sold over 500 million records, per USA Today — was still operational at the time of his indictment, per Business Insider, though it hasn't announced any major releases.

As for his own catalogs, Combs' music remains available on major streaming platforms.
