In her interview with TV Insider, Emily O’Brien opened up about her return as Gwen Rizczech on the Days of Our Lives. The actor was contacted to reprise her role of Theresa briefly and later step back into the shoes of Gwen Rizczech. She talked about her comeback, stating, “I’ve always loved playing Gwen, so it was an easy answer for me.”

Additionally, O’Brien talked about the way Gwen’s role was shaped on DOOL. For the unversed, the character was left heartbroken after finding out that Dimitri was in love with Leo Stark. While Gwen initially targeted him for money, she eventually fell in love with him. However, she managed to ease her heart by stealing some money from Dimitri and eventually leaving Salem.

O’Brien explained, “Gwen has always been scrappy and always trying to find someone to love her, someone to use.” However, now the character is financially stable, and she has everything except love. The 40-year-old also revealed how the makers have “refined” Gwen’s character on DOOL. She noted, “The new writers have refined her. She went away and spent time with the elite, and now she has knowledge and status, so that’s been a different twist to come back and play her. She’s spending time with new characters, and it’s been fun to discover where everything is going with her now.”

Gwen Rizczech is now rich, and her perspective on the world seems to have changed. It will be interesting to see how the dynamics end up changing in Salem City with her stunning comeback.
